Answers to frequently asked questions about the PlugPage
More than 500,000 plugins served. Thank you. Drive through. The PlugPage is back after a long and well overdue vacation. Enjoy and download to your heart's content. Make a link and share!
If it isn't obvious enough already, for the official record, the PlugPage is owned by none other than BoxTop Software purveyor of many fine Photoshop plugins for Web graphics. These are tools you need and you should go check them out now. (Subtlety is not our strong point.) They aren't the only tools you probably need, though, which is why 5 years ago we started the PlugPage to make it easy to find, download, and try out 3rd party Photoshop plugins. This is a nice thing to do, and believe us the bandwidth costs a pretty penny. Make sure to check out our tools and buy them if you need them because they foot the bill for the PlugPage. The last year saw the PlugPage off line because not enough bandwidth was available to support it, which is something we've fixed with a move to two ISPs and redundant servers on different sides of the country. This ain't cheap, so please help spread the word about the PlugPage and BoxTop's tools. If you're looking for a specific plugin that isn't listed, then we don't have it in the archives, and if we don't have it in the archives that almost always means we don't know where to find the plugin in question either. The thing to do in this case is Email us with as much information as you know about said plugin so we can try and locate it for the archives. The more you can tell us the better. No. There are some plugins that federal court orders and guns to our head wouldn't make us list. These are very few, though. Two of them to be precise. The general rule of thumb we use is any company that has infringed upon our copyrights forcing us to sue them resulting in a settlement that still remains unpaid till this day, is pretty much blacklisted and can rot for all we care. Other than that, pretty much anyone's plugins are welcome even if they compete with ours, but the usual "we reserve the rights to" thing does apply. Email us, tell us a little bit about it and where we can download it for the archive. That's all there is to it. While resurrecting the archive the number of 3rd party Windows plugins we had available was dismally small, and just as dismally out of date compared to the number of Macintosh ones. We decided to just list our own Windows plugins for the time being. We would like to have a better offering of Windows plugins before putting up the listings, and you can help by pointing us toward any Windows plug-ins you know about. Send us an email. Because that's a pretty tall order given the numbers of plugins there are. The PlugPage is an archive to make it easy to find and download. You may get pot luck, but you can always get it. In time there may be more, but no nagging in the mean time. We are trying to provide at least a basic description of each plugin, but those are incomplete now in the reconstruction. Not at this time. |
